If that's not the worst of it, some Australian land developer named Ozzy (with an obvious disgust in pirates) is trying to buy out the entire tri-island area, turning the scurvy-ridden Caribbean into a family-friendly tourist attraction. Guybrush just married the love of his life, Elaine Marley, but as soon as they are back on Melee Island from their 6-month honeymoon, they find out that Elaine has been declared dead and a new guy is running for governor. But that is easily overlooked because of the brilliant story and beautiful, fun surroundings unique to the Monkey Island games.
Being the first of the series in 3D (and released in 2000), the graphics are incredibly rigid and bulky. Escape From Monkey Island must be one of the best games in the Monkey Island series.
